I just read a story on treehugger.com about companies that are providing bonuses to employees that recycle the most. Here’s the article:

What a great idea. I think this gives employees a true incentive to recycle and cut down on office energy costs, as money is always a big incentive. They even mention a software system that tracks how much is being recycled. I wonder if by the end of the year once they tally all the results and cost savings, if the savings from recycling and less energy consumption will be greater than the bonuses paid to employees. If that’s the case, then this would be a true win-win situation! Helping the planet and being green while having a happy workforce that got rewarded monetarily for their good actions.
On another subject, I want to report that Party for Nature at Tattoo a few weeks ago was a tremendous success. Lots of people came and danced the night away. The friendly Alaska Wilderness League goose was a hit among attendants and many people learned more about the featured green charity. We are still waiting on the final numbers of the donation but we are sure it will be a good one. A big thank you to Tattoo Bar for hosting Party for Nature once again and also to everyone that attended. We sure hope you had tons of green fun!
As always, the Sports for Nature Team is working on new projects and events. We are currently promoting the new season of tennis and golf trips in Costa Rica. The season starts in December of 2011 and extends until April of 2012. We have been able to lower the trip costs by 40% with respect to last season and still offer the same great benefits, so we hope that this trips season will be even bigger than last one! Paradisus Playa Conchal offers 4 beautiful lighted tennis courts and a private championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, so facilities for the tennis and golf trips could not be better! We have also created a brand new brochure for the tennis trips, check it out at:

See you in Costa Rica! Go green!
